25 Mar 2025 We were travellers staying in nearby hotel and chanced upon this bar & restaurant. Ambience was great. Playlist was wonderful. Even on a weekday night, we saw people having their dinner there and some having drinks in groups. They served vongole in generous amount of clams. The chunky fries was good too. We had 1 beer each. We spent RM82.15. Unfortunately we only discovered this place on our last night stay. Otherwise, we would visit every night there.

Look, the trick is knowing what to order. There's a reason Brew House is staying around, and even survived the pandemic. Their easygoing vibe, quick service, reasonably-priced drinks and frankly, food that's actually good are the main factors I keep coming back despite knowing there are better places elsewhere. First off, the menu is ever-changing and ever-expanding. Rule of thumb is, don't be too adventurous, stick to the favourites, and when in doubt, order Asian. Because it's such a huge menu there's bound to be some misses. Here's what I like and consistently order: -Stir-fried Roast Pork with Steam Rice (really addicted to this one) -Roasted Pork Belly -Bacon Steak -Nasi Lemak -Braised Pork Belly -Ham Yee Fa Lam Poh -Braised Pork Rice -Nyonya Laksa with Roasted Pork -Fried Spaghetti Mamak Style -Grilled Grain-fed Steak Here's what I didn't like: -Thai Moo Ping (roadside stalls better) -Char Siew Rice Bowl (underwhelming) -Mutton Fried Rice (flavours don't go together) -Hainanese Chicken Chop (batter not nice) -Signature Pork Chop (tough meat) -Mac & Chick Burger (so jelak can die) -Thai Minced Pork and Basil Pizza (overambitious and bad execution) The most important thing here is to have a few drinks and chill with friends. It's a great place to unwind after work, and best of all the prices are very reasonable. I had a very fulfilling appetiser, main course and beer and the bill came to RM65. That's pretty amazing. Do you want to bring a first-timer to Ipoh here? No. Do you want to buy your kids their first 18yo drink here? Maybe. Do you want pork and beer and a good time? Definitely yes.

Great layout, superb menu. Three of us ate here with three different meals, but we all had a Heineken to drink. The meals came out as they were ready, so they remained hot. I had Mac and Cheese, which was plentiful and tasty. Would recommend this place as a regular eating haunt.

I purposely came here to try the Korean Special Menu, Gamjatang (Potato Pork Rib Spicy Soup), since it’s rarely available in Ipoh. The pork ribs were firm yet tender, with a soft texture and rich flavor. The soup had a slight spiciness, but overall it was very delicious. The portion of pork ribs was generous, enough for four people, and it also came with glass noodles on top and a plate of rice on the side. I also really enjoyed the ambience and service here. Special thanks to the waitress, Fleya, whose warm smile and gracious hospitality stood out. She even offered to change my seat to a cushioned spot with better lighting once it became available.
